The Tusten - Cochecton
branch of the Western Sullivan
Public Library was
built in 1990. Our collection has grown to include over 14,000
items. We began operating on a single level and soon expanded to
include a lower level where our children's room, local history room and book
sale room are now housed. Adult and Young Adult materials are housed on
our upper level: including fiction and non-fiction books, our reference
collection, more than forty periodicals, two local newspapers and our video
collection. Study carrells are available for patrons and have outlets
to plug in a portable typewriter or computer in a less-traveled
area. Our public access Internet connection are also
upstairs. Through the Ramapo Catskill Library System and its'
automation system - ANSER - patrons have access to many licensed databases from
which they can access full-text magazine articles on many
topics. All kinds of Federal and State Tax forms are also available.
The library has a Storytime for Pre-Schoolers
that is held every other Monday from 10 to 11:00am,
September through June. The children are read to, they sing songs,
play games and do a craft project. During the summer we have a
Pre-School and Young Adult Summer Reading Program that meets weekly on Mondays.
Guest
authors make special appearances throughout the year at the
Tusten-Cochecton Library for both young readers along with those who are
young at heart.

We also have a Book Discussion Group
that meets the third Thursday of the month from May through October at 7:00pm at
the library. The books are chosen by the participants in March.
The Library Board of Trustees meets
the second Monday of every month and rotates their meetings amongst the three
branches.
