Upcoming Events at the Tusten-Cochecton Library
We, at
the Tusten - Cochecton Library, are excited that our library will soon be fully
automated. This means that each of our patrons will carry a barcoded
library card that they can use at any of the libraries in the Ramapo
Catskill Library System. They can also use the barcode from their library
card to access licensed databases with full-text articles from hundreds of
newspapers and periodicals.
Wednesday, April 4th: The Great Read-Aloud 2001: Come hear some of your friends and neighbors read their favorite short stories and/or books aloud. Join us at 7:00pm – but be sure to come early enough to vote on the Library budget and for the Trustee position on the Library Board. The candidates are Rhoda Epstein and Joann Haberli and the voting will take place from 2:00pm until 8:00pm.
Wednesday, April 11th: Sharon Umnik from Highlights for Children will be joining us on Wednesday, April 11th from 3:15-4:30pm for Easter craft-making. Call 845.252.3360 or stop by the library to sign up. Ages 5 and older please.
Saturday, April 21st: If you would like to create your own Videotoon, (a video cartoon) join us at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch of the library on Saturday, April 21st. Video artist Ron Littke will be here to help you create your own video story. The sessions are from 10:00 until 11:00am, 11:00 until noon, and noon until 1:00 pm. This video project is made possible with funds from the Sullivan County Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. These workshops are for children 3 and older and parents are welcome. Call or stop by the library to sign up. Watch for details of the activities planned for National TV-Turnoff Week, which is April 23rd – 29th.
